I'd like to piggy back on my previous Pay Pal blog entry as this topic deserves more attention.
It is not clear why Pay Pal is closing down certain Ecig, Ejuice, and Vaporizer retailers. If you go to the Pay Pal acceptable use policy, you won't be able to find an exact rule stating the policy for electronic cigarettes, e-juice, e-liquid, or vaporizer retailers. However we get calls every day from people telling us that Pay Pal just shut them down and they need to accept credit cards instantly.
To add, we do not believe they are accepting new ecig and vapor retailers as we get calls from newbies informing us Pay Pal will not process credit cards for them. I believe Pay Pal is being vague about this for several reasons. First, they do not want to lose the entire business because they realize the growth potential. So they are being vague to keep you guessing. Secondly, they further the obscurity by allowing some electronic cigarette retailers, and vapor retailers to continue using Pay Pal payment processing while terminating others. It doesn't make any sense!
This is why you need a credit card processing solution that doesn't play games. We specialize in offering low credit card rates for ecig, ejuice, eliquid, and vapor retailers. It is my recommendation that you get a back-up credit card processing solution. If you want to keep Pay Pal around, now worries. You can list both credit card processors on your website allowing the consumer to choose how they would like to pay. This way you are offering a few choices to your customer while protecting yourself in the event Pay Pal gives you the boot.
If you have been booted by Pay Pal, please share with us a comment about your experience and what pain it caused you. Merchant Discount Rate specializes in offering credit card processing solutions for ecig and vapor retailers. Simply fill out our contact form and we will contact you immediately.
